Two units of type 612 are MUed for a Hof-Nürnberg "Regionalexpress", seen here near Schnabelwaid. Americans might call it a local fast train. The class 612 are two-carriage 99 mph DMU units. There is a 3-digit number of them. On special waiver for vehicle plus track, the 612 may operate at 11.8 inches of unbalanced superelevation. Predictable track geometry is required for this.
